Not Your Typical Weight Loss Journey.....

Weight loss.....when people hear those words typically it's a positive reaction. Either they are happy they've lost weight or are hoping to. I on the other hand, hear those words and think: AGAIN?! Haven't I lost enough weight? Since my first trimester I have been losing weight. By the time I had delivered my son I had lost a total of 25 lbs. Which is quite the opposite of most women. I'm sure you read that and think: "oh wow thats amazing" or "wow I wish I lost 25lbs" or something else along those lines. However, I only weighed 145lbs and I am 5 feet 5 inches, a size 2 in Jeans and a small in everything else. So you see, I didnt need to lose 25 lbs. I have now lost a total of 30lbs. (30lbs I didnt NEED to lose) now I'm 115 lbs and a size 0 in jeans and I swim in a size small. Unfortunately there is no "too skinny" support group. Most people dislike the way they look because they think they weigh too much and they have support from...

Why Our Son's Face Is Not On Social Media

Many people wonder why we dont post any pictures of our son on Facebook or any social media platform . This seems to be a real hot topic. Most people we speak to don't seem to understand and/or think it makes no sense.  Before our lil booger was even born, my boyfriend and I discussed social media. We had both decided we did not want to put our son's face on any social media platform. ( We never posted a sonogram either) When we found out we were having a baby, we sent out announcements to family and texted or called close friends . There was never any: " guess what! We're expecting!" o n Facebook . The fact that we did not announce this publicly seemed to bother some people . We even got a comment about us "hiding the pregnancy". (Fo r the record we were not hiding the pregnancy) I did not want to post about it on social media is all . If we saw people we are not particularly close to we told them. W e figured the people who needed to know, kne...

Local Favorites!

One of my favorite things in the world is FOOD! I have always had a love for food. I will try almost anything once even if it sounds a bit odd.  Today I wanted to tell you about some of our favorite local spots to eat. We by no means have been to every food spot in our area (although I wouldn't mind) and we are not professional food critics. These are just some places that my family and I enjoy and would like to share. All of these places are family/child friendly.  Here are 10 local favorites of ours: Woodcock Brothers Brewery -Located in Wilson, NY The Woodcock Brothers decor is great, every time I wall in I remember how much I love it. However we don't go there for how its looks. We go for the food. More specifically the PIZZA! They dont just have your typical cheese and pep pizza. They also have a bruschetta to die for! Stop in and try their pizza. It's half off on Tuesdays ! Now I know I said this was about food but Woodcock Brothers is a brewer...

Baby Led Weaning - What is it?

Image
So many people are amazed that my now 9 month old is sitting at the table eating with us. Usually people ask if I brought something for him to eat or ask "What is Sean going to eat?" Our reply is always w.e. we are eating. People are typically shocked and/or give us a look that implies "yea right." I'm sure some of you are wondering how is this possible? The answer is: **Baby Led Weaning! Otherwise known as BLW** Show of hands....who doesn't know what baby led weaning is? No surprise that a lot of people do not know what BLW is. To be honest I did not know what BLW was until 5 months into my pregnancy. To be short and to the point. BLW means that baby eats what you eat but cut into finger shaped bites, as opposed to purees/baby food (traditional weaning). Typically when we think of "weaning" we think removing something from the everyday. For example, you wean your child from a bottle, meaning you're teaching the baby to go without ...
